The EVROPA 2000 Foundation was originally born in March 1, 1991. In 1995, by changing the legislation regulating foundations, it was coupled with the new legal operating rules. Starting in 2010, she had a period of inactivity that lasted ten years. In 2020 and after changes in its Board of Directors, it begins a new stage, with great desire to set an important guideline in the areas of its concern.
The Mission of the EVROPA 2000 Foundation is to promote and disseminate in civil society the values of democracy, freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights in Latin America and the Caribbean, with special attention to Venezuela; taking as fundamental premises education, comunication, religious, cultural and ethnic diversity, care for the environment and ecology; through dialogue, culture, diplomacy, protocol and peace; having as a history of union between Europe and America, the legacy and example of the “first world-wide Creole”, Francisco de Miranda (1750-1816), military man, politician and statesman, the man who participated in three fundamental political movements (Independence of the USA, French Revolution and Independence of Venezuela), born in Caracas; and Václav Havel (1936-2011), playwright, writer and politician, key man in the fight against communist totalitarianism, defender of human rights, the last president of Czechoslovakia and the first president of the Czech Republic, born in Prague.
